Ray Gibson is a self-taught visual artist based in Brighton UK. As a freelance photographer in the arts, Ray covers arts and music events, festivals and performances, locally and nationally, indoor and outdoor.

Other photographic interests include landscape, trees and botany and macro images of coffee oil(!)

Ray also produces drawings on 3D objects especially stone and other found objects. Ray creates small characters on stone, drawn in colour inks, acrylics and decoupage.

The drawings are initially inspired by the patterning, texture and shapes found on the stone's surface, usually traced as a face or figure.

Each piece starts with a detailed examination of the stone's surface and ends with a photograph. Photographing each of the pieces in a studio or in the streets is all part of the process.

Ray also makes short stop-motion films to fully represent the 360º works.
